1. Describe your experience. (Did you find it beneficial? Difficult?) Why or Why not? Would you recommend this to others? Why or Why not?
Dacher suggested the Loving Kindness practice first thing in the day. My other practices will be the first thing done in the day. After few hours of activities, it may make a difference in the practice. It was beneficial but difficult. As I listened to Harriet Cianci by the time, my enemies were at first of me. I found myself drifting off to sleep. There was a refreshing feeling by the end of the Loving Kindness practice. This may have been because I fell asleep. I will continue doing the practice but first thing in the day.
2. What is the concept of “Mental Workout?
Any type of training requires practice. We can not develop our psychospiritual life and access its capacities without daily practices.
What does the research indicate are the proven benefits of a Mental Work Out? We will be well to the road to health, happiness and wholeness with moderate effort.
How can you implement mental workouts to foster your psychological health? I must be consistent each morning with the practice. Slacking up on a physical or mental workout, I can return to step one.
The Loving Kindness practice would excellent for someone trying to deal anger management.
Hello Bernadette! I also found that doing the Loving-Kindness in the a.m. rather than at night, worked much better for me. I was least likely to fall asleep and I also felt that I was able to start my day with more intention and positivity. Do you think that trying it at the end of your day or first thing in the morning will help you more in your daily practice? I agree that practice does make perfect... we can succeed in anything we do as long as we try, try, try again and practice... :)
