I have been alternating loving kindness, the witnessing mind, calm-abiding and Meeting Asclepius exercises. My psychological and spiritual wellness is constantly growing. The stressors and reactive actions are not physically affecting me. There is an invisible wall. Where I view and listen to the actions, I form a decision about handling the situation. There is no way! The practices will not continue after the end of this class. The subtle way to deal with stressors cannot be beat.
If I smoke a pack of cigarettes a day, take a pill for a hangnail; let life makes the decisions for my life; eat box macaroni and cheese only; and drink mainly diet soda. How can I guide clients to health and wellness? Actually, any sane clients would find someone else. You have to walk the walk not talk it. It is the only effective way to be of service. The Health and Wellness has been my personal development. I didn’t have a health problem until the exercise physiology classes. High potent multi-vitamins were taken for 18 years until I took a nutrition course. My courses are developing me psychologically, physically and spiritually.
Bernadette,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have already gotten so much out of this course! I am amazed how much you have already incorporated in your weekly schedule of the exercises. That is inspiring to me. I seem to be so busy with full time work, full time school and training for a marathon that my main issue is time to sit down for half hour or so just to do a meditation. Yet, I know it is so beneficial. I do want a calmer and happier life so I am going to find a way to fit in more of the meditations. Thanks for your example. You are walking the walk!

Thanks Therese,
ReplyDeleteSince I move to my hometown, I haven't started working. This does make a difference yet I am learning I should have been doing this regardless. You sound like you got a lot on your plate. What about mini meditations before you get out of sleep. A calming mind seems to organize the day.

Bernadette,
ReplyDeleteI, also have a pile on my plate but using mini meditations have helped, allowing me to maintain my sane mind and complicated life. I use them to help me to fall asleep and as a cooldown with my workouts and physcial training to increase my endurance so I am a better instructor for my class. The easiest thing I have found is just focusing on my breathing for 10 to 15 minutes. The greatest thing and feeling is on the exhale, I can feel my body sink into the floor or bed deeper everytime I exhale. Also it feels as I sink, my heart opens up wide and my mind become clearer. AAAAHHHH it is the best feeling and thing that I can do for myself. tammie
Wow Bernadette! That is so cool that you see that invisible wall that helps block out the negatives and allows you to sort through what feels more important to your spiritual and psychological wellbeing. Kudos on your development! Stay on track and keep living your life!

Hi Bernadette, I am inspired by your insight... it is amazing that health, happiness, and wholeness comes from within. Having a true understanding of the power that is in our hearts, and mind is the beginning of cultivating our true self... with consistent intentional practice we will create wholeness, not just for ourselves but for the future of humanity.
